Why Facial Biometrics Stands Out

Against this background, facial biometrics appears to be one of the most balanced and mature options. Smartphone cameras are already widely available, and modern computer vision algorithms support both online and offline identification without constant dependence on external infrastructure.

When implemented correctly with anti-spoofing protection, facial recognition can provide a strong balance of security, speed, and user experience, which is why it is currently viewed as one of the most practical and universal technologies.

Government-Level Validation

Importantly, this direction is validated not only by market adoption, but also at the regulatory level. In several countries, particularly in Central Asia, legal frameworks require financial organizations, primarily banks, to perform remote customer verification specifically through facial recognition. This is not a recommendation or experiment, but a direct regulatory requirement.

Such an approach indicates that facial biometrics is recognized by regulators as one of the most reliable methods for mass-scale identification scenarios.

The Path Forward

Current conditions suggest that large-scale identity systems will be built around facial recognition combined with additional verification layers. Other biometric methods will likely remain supplementary or niche, applicable in specific scenarios.

We believe that a responsible and balanced approach to identity systems can preserve this delicate boundary of trust in the future, while choosing optimal methods can make trusted identification truly accessible at scale both online and offline.
